The aesthetic and design of manufactured metal tins hasn’t changed for over 200 years. Fascinated by this curious fact, Jessica began to design and make ceramic pieces inspired by the characteristics and forms of metal tins through vitrified porcelain. Creating valued one-off pieces is essential for Jessica to celebrate making by hand and the hand-made culture in Britain. Jessica celebrates craftsmanship through her own work by highlighting her elusive joining technique, allowing the viewer to see the construction and unique trademark of her craft.
The Stratford Gallery is pleased to offer new works by Jessica, an emerging potter producing beautifully formed and subtely decorated porcelain ware.
