Eddie’s career in ceramics started back in 1973 when he studied a BA in ceramics at the Bath Academy of Art. From here Eddie worked tirelessly to fund his full time studio in County Durham where he and his wife Margaret still work today.
Eddie exemplifies true mastery of his craft, developing pioneering techniques that allow him to make stunning forms that look earth born yet of human influence.
His latest works employ long held Japanese techniques, hollowing out solid forms that have been deliberately brutalised and kneaded into shapes that allow for the most exquisite surface decoration.
Eddie has exhibited globally, is collected privately and publicly and commands considerable international repute.
Eddie Curtis held his first solo show for three years at The Stratford Gallery in 2017.
