The Blue Priory

39 3/8 x 43 1/4 x 2 in ’The Blue Priory' is loosely based on Mount's Bay in Penzance, and the Priory is St.Michaels, but could almost be on the Danube or an Italian lake . The atmosphere is very much after Turners 'Blue Rigi', his famous little watercolour, the emotion of  which Gareth has succesfully transposed into a large oil painting. Gareth has used multiple veils of oil glazes built up over months to get a layered atmospheric multiple perspective and spatial elegiac feeling. Stock Ref: Edwards_G086
