Taking inspiration from her daily observations, Marie's abstract compositions focus on the relationship between shape, colour and texture within a chosen space. Having grown up with a father who had a keen interest in archaeology and art, her childhood was spent surrounded by objects of interest from his collection. From an early age she found herself drawn to 'Primitive' art, for the seemingly simple yet sophisticated and succesful use of line and form, the inspiration of which can be noted in her own practice today. We are delighted to introduce her work to the Stratford Gallery, and to be show casing 16 new works by her which will be released over the Jubilee Bank Holiday week end both online and in gallery.
