We are delighted to announce ‘Akihiro Nikaido - A Solo Collection’ will launch online at 7pm BST  Friday May 31st and open for viewing in the gallery on Saturday 1st June. 

Nikaido san’s work has been a feature of our mixed shows for over half a decade now but this is the first solo collection dedicated to this wonderful Shizuoka based artist.  His aesthetic is restrained and sophisticated and deeply Japanese.  Mixing elements of ancient Japanese ceramic forms and sensibilities reminiscent of Nanban ceramics with homages to Raku family techniques, his earthy and organic surfaces exist to soothe and slow us down. 

We are very pleased to give Nikaido San his first solo outing in the UK.
