Gallery Statement

We first met Suzuki san at the studio of his good friend Makoto Yamaguchi in Seto. It was a fortunate meeting as we discovered his vibrant work that day by very happy co-incidence. His is interested in the fluidity of glaze and the ability to influence its movement across the forms he creates. The glass like glaze is called Ryusensai in Japanese describing the vibrancy and dynamic nature of molten glass. His colour palates echo ocean blues and greens with earth toned ochres to create fresh and contemporary landscapes across the surface of his work.
