Teppei Terada was bon in 1975 into a family with a long line of former potters. He graduated in 1998 from Tokyo Zokei University where he majored in Sculpture. Following this he felt the call of his ceramic ancestry and set up his first studio in Seto, an area of long standing historical relevance to Japanese ceramics. He is the 5th generation of Teradas keeping alive traditions his family laid down over 100 years ago. Bright colours and fluid painterly designs mark out his work which is very tied to Japanese food culture.
