Sandy Lockwood

Overview

Born in London, Sandy Lockwood is a potter now based in New South Wales, Australia. She has undertaken extensive ceramics education culminating in a PhD in Creative Arts in 2018, obtained via research over 5 years. Her relationship with clay began in 1975 which she was immediately attracted to through the direct and tactile experience it offered. Since establishing her studio, Balmoral Pottery, in 1980, Sandy has been a full-time potter specialising in clay, wood firing and salt glazing.

She has been widely exhibited across Australia and internationally, been the subject of a significant number of solo exhibitions and has also been invited internationally to lecture on wood firing and salt glazing. Her work is available in collections throughout Australia and we are delighted to represent her work in the UK.
