Rachael Reeves

Overview

After a year’s art foundation course at Barnfield College, Rachael studied her bachelors in Fine Art at Coventry University between 1983-85. After which time, she studied for a masters in painting at the Chelsea School of Art.

Today, Rachael lives very near the sea in Newlyn. Her relationship to the natural world and the places she visits on a daily basis feature regularly in her paintings. Her work also visibly stems from an interest in the formal qualities that make up a painting; she thinks very carefully about composition and placement. Her visual language focuses on shape and form, light and dark.

In 2001, she was elected as a member of the Newlyn Society of Artists.
