John Lendis is an internationally collected artist born in Nottingham in 1950. He lives and works in the Oxfordshire Cotswolds.
Lendis' creative path has seen him take many turns, exploring the world through both cities and remote locations. His experiences in Australia, New Zealand , Bali, Japan and Afghanistan have all left fingerprints in his mind's eye, catalysts perhaps to his hard won symbols and motifs that call to us from the surface of his paintings.
In an artistic career spanning more than forty years, Lendis has fought relentlessly to produce paintings that speak of experiences that struggle to be described or decorated by words. His most recent exhibition at the Stratford Gallery being a profound personal statement at this stage in his life, a considered reckoning of thoughts in silence.
