Born in 1949 in Kingston, Surrey, Jenny Lock turned exclusively to a career in painting later on in her life. She originally studied Fashion at Epsom School of Art and Design and after graduating she worked for many years for fashion forecasting companies and as a freelance illustrator, whilst raising a family in London. Later she went on to study a BA in ‘The Practice and Theory of Fine Art’ at Chelsea College of Art. Upon graduating in 2002, she moved from London to the South Coast, where she now paints full-time from her garden studio.
Living a stone's throw from the sea is a constant source of inspiration. The ever-changing light over the sea as well as the rich and varied textures of the coastline are constant sources of inspiration. Her palette is soft and muted and an unmistakable calmness and serenity pervades her canvases.
Jenny's work has been exhibited widely in the UK and in France.
