Deiniol Williams

Overview

Welsh contemporary ceramic artist Deiniol Williams completed his foundation year in Art & Design at the Carmarthen College of Art and Design in 2000 and later obtained his bachelors in 3D design from Manchester Metropolitan University in 2005.

Deiniol unique wood-fired works range from bowls, cups, vases, platters and bottles. Recently, he has begun challenging himself to take on larger statement pieces. Since 2013, he has also developed a range of earthenware tiles based on original medieval designs and geometric patterns for both home interiors and installations.

Deiniol has been part of the Crafts Council Directory since 2015 and in 2018 he became a member of the Craft Potters Association. The same year also saw him nominated for the Arts & Crafts Design Award as well as win the Runner Up Prize in the Bankley Open at the Bankley Gallery in Manchester. Alongside his making, Deiniol has also spent some time teaching at Manchester Metropolitan University, his alma mater, as a ceramics tutor. Today, Deiniol lives and works in West Yorkshire.
