In planning for this exhibition last year, little did we know how the world around us would change so much. Fitting then, perhaps, that this show's contemplative works resonate even more strongly as we start to look outwards, embracing and appreciating our natural environment and the sense of space, comfort and peace it offers. Ocean Anthology is a collection of works by 5 Cornish painters who have manifested their empathy with and belonging to the peninsula they call home. Rhythmic echoes of tide and time, light, space and the nurture of nature all abound in these beautiful new works. Additionally they are joined by some fabulous paintings in the style of mid century St Ives school of painting. In times of great pace and change, now, more than ever, a painting on the wall enables us to press the pause button whilst we transport ourselves to its mindful destination. We look forward to welcoming you to the exhibition in gallery or online and hope that its intention to provide peace and thoughtfulness resonates with you all.
