Ashraf Hanna is a globally acclaimed ceramic artist with work in the permanent collections of several museums around the world, most recently the Victoria & Albert Museum in London. In September this year Ashraf was invited to showcase his work at the Homo Faber international festival of world class craft in Venice, a bi-annual celebration of the world's finest artisan craftspeople and their work.
His ceramic forms are handbuilt vessels exploring a meaning beyond function. As Ashraf himself explains, “The vessel has evolved from its basic function to contain, to become a vessel of mans’ creativity. In surpassing functionality vessels have invited a more poetic and meditative approach to making.”
The gallery is thrilled to feature a collection of his very latest works personally curated for the gallery by Ashraf himself.
